Before you enter the Fire study area on WebCT you should enable JavaScript and set the cache of your browser. The following table provides instructions for the browsers that WebCT supports. WebCT does not work with AOL.

Browser Directions
Netscape Navigator 4 and Netscape Communicator 4.x
  1. From the Edit menu, click Preferences.
  2. Under the Category heading, click Advanced.
  3. Ensure that Enable Java and Enable JavaScript are selected.
  4. Expand the Advanced folder, by clicking + and then Cache.
  5. Under Document in cache is compared to document on network, select Every time.
  6. Click OK.
Internet Explorer 4+, 5+
  1. From the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. Under Temporary Internet Files, click Settings.
  4. Under Check for new versions of stored pages, select Every visit to the page, and then click OK.
  5. Click the Advanced tab.
  6. Under Microsoft VM, ensure that Java console enabled and Java logging enabled are selected.
  7. Click OK.
  8. If you selected Java console enabled, restart your computer.
